Unveiled during the Miami Art Week the all-new 42.75-metre catamaran concept named "The Sea Cat 40" is said to be inspired by marine algae phytoplankton that converts sunlight into energy which explains the upper exterior surfaces being clad in photovoltaic membrane cells.
Fitted with 135 square metres of solar panels which generates 250kWh of energy and utilizing a hybrid power approach and smart AI yechnology " The Sea Cat 40" has been designed for transatlantic voyages said to be able to travel an estimated 3,850 nautical miles at a range of 8-knots the range by using 80% solar energy with the remainder coming from diesel-electric support, naturally for daily use the catamaran can operate 100% in full-solar electric mode.
Sporting a simple silhouette with sinuous lines the Italian shipyard turned to Italian naval architect Fulvio De Simoni to spearheaded both the exterior and interior of the vessell.
